Seawolves get back on track with weekend sweep over Niagara.

This past weekend Stony Brook put on a goal scoring clinic, scoring sixteen goals in two games against 18th ranked Niagara University. Saturday night’s game the Seawolves led 3-1 midway through the second period until Stony Brook opened the flood gates when the line of Jt Hall, Brendan Calello and Chris Stemke put two goals past the Niagara goal keeper in less than a minute. The Seawolve went on to role past Niagara 8-2. The star of the game went to forward Chris Stemke with four assists on the game.
Sunday afternoon’s game got off to another quick start for the Seawolves as they scored four goals in the first five minutes of the game. However, Niagara was able to battle back to make it a 5-3 game after the Seawolves found themselves in penalty trouble. Stony Brook got back to full strength in the third and put three more goals behind the Niagara goalie. The Seawolves went on to win 8-3, and improving their record to 4-1-1. The star of the game went to Stony Brook Freshman goalie, Richard Shipman.
Stony Brook travels to New Jersey this weekend to take on Rutgers University on Friday night at 8:00pm and Saturday night at 3:00pm. The Seawolves next home game will be against Syracuse University Saturday, October 29th at 8:30pm and Sunday October 30th at 3:30pm. All home games are played at the Rinx in Hauppague, 660 Terry Rd.
