Currently in his 21th year of being a General Manager and 8th year as Head Coach of Stony Brook, Chris has been a large reason why the team has become one of the most dominant non varsity college hockey programs in the country. Chris, also known as the “nuts and bolts” of the team, in addition to coaching does all of the recruiting, scheduling, and organizing the team requires during the season. After taking over the Head Coaching role, Chris has lead the team to 4 consecutive ESCHL Championships (2013, 2014, 2015 & 2016), Runner Up at the 2015 ACHA DI National Tournament, Semifinals in 2014 & 2016 at the ACHA DI National Tournament and Quarter Finals in 2017 at the ACHA DI National Tournament. Chris has not only been a General Manager and Coach of the team he was also a player from 1992 to 1996. He ended his Stony Brook career with his selection to the Metropolitan Collegiate Hockey Conference all-star team in his senior year. Chris was born in Portland Maine and after only living there for one year moved to Long Island where he played Hockey at Farmingdale High School and for the Junior Islanders. Chris received his Bachelors of Science degree in Business Management from Stony Brook in May of 1996. Upon graduation Chris took a job with Computer Associates, where he worked until 2003. Currently he is National Account District Sales Manager for Automatic Data Processing (ADP).
Colin will be going into his 8th year as an Assistant Coach for the Seawolves and first as an Associate Head Coach. In Colin’s short time in coaching he has already achieved a great deal of success. Colin has also helped lead the team to 4 consecutive ESCHL Championships, Runner Up at the ACHA DI National Tournament in 2015, Semi Finals in 2014 & 2106 and Quarter Finals in 2017. Colin played all 4 years of his college hockey career at Stony Brook and with the last two being the teams Captain. During his playing career at Stony Brook he was known as a very tough stay at home defenseman who would always put the team first. Colin original is from Columbia, Maryland where he played for the Junior Nationals of the AJHL and for the Little Capitals of the MJHL. Today Colin resides in Coram, NY with his wife and daughter and is a sales representative for Medline Industries.
Alessandro “Sanny” Galati
Sanny will be entering his first year as an Assistant Coach with the organization. Sanny has been coaching multiple travel hockey teams for the past 10 years. Within that time, he has helped lead his team to 8 Long Island championships, one runner up in the New York State Championship, and made it to the National Championship once. Sanny has coached hockey players ranging from 12U all the way up to 18U. Sanny is a Level 4 USA Hockey Coach and plans on getting his Level 5 Coaching Certification, the highest offered by USA Hockey, within a year. This will be his first year as an assistant coaching working with the forwards and power play. Sanny is a project manager for a Long Island based construction company. He was born in West Islip and now lives in Northport.
Chris Testa is in his second year as Stony Brook’s goaltending coach. In 2015-16, Chris brought the program a wealth of knowledge and experience at the goaltending position having played four years of NCAA hockey at UMass-Boston and three years semi-professionally (FHL and SPHL). Upon his playing career, Chris joined Pro Crease Goaltending as a head instructor and is now part owner of the LLC. In addition to his obligations to various youth travel hockey organizations the last five years, Chris has spent time scouting for USA Hockey on a national level as well as providing goaltending instruction for the USA Hockey paralympic sled hockey team from 2013-16.
Chris currently resides in Glen Cove, NY with his wife Marisa. He is a licensed Real Estate Salesperson for Coldwell Banker, the country’s largest real estate firm.”
