Seawolves continue their winning ways!!!!!!!

The Seawolves continued their winning ways on the road this past weekend in Hershey, PA as they swept the two game series against the Lebanon Valley Flying Dutchmen; improving their record to 11 and 1. On Saturday the top line of the night for Stony Brook, accounting for four out of the eight goals were forwards Ryan Cotcamp (3 goals/2 assists), Vinny Lopes (4 assists) and Nick Barbera (2 goals/3 assists). Seawolve’s goalie, Derek Willms recorded his third shutout of the year and was awarded star of the game for the second time this year. The Seawolves went on to win the game 8-0.
Sunday’s game proved to be a barn burner as the Flying Dutchmen went up on the Seawolves 1-0 early in the first period, with a goal by Flying Dutchmen Justin Boyd. However, the Seawolves top line from the night before would tie the game 1-1, with a goal from forward Ryan Cotcamp. The second period Stony Brook would open the game up, scoring three unanswered goals. Accounting for the Seawolves second period goals were Defenseman Andrew Balzafiore, forwards Ryan Cotcamp and Vinny Lopes. Stony Brook would finish off the Flying Dutchmen by a score of 5-2. Stony Brook’s next home games are this Saturday and Sunday at The Rinx in Hauppauge, 660 Terry Road. The Seawolves are currently ranked 5th in the country and will face their toughest opponent yet as the #2 team in the country, Arizona State roles into town. Come down and cheer on the Seawolves on Saturday night, as the game gets under way at 8:30pm, if you can’t make it down Saturday night the Seawolves will play Arizona State on Sunday at 3:30pm.
In addition to the games, Saturday night Stony Brook will be raising money for The Wounded Warrior Project, and Sunday will be the Seawolves Toy Drive day. All the toys donated will be given to the Stony Brook Children’s Hospital.
