Seawolves continue to win

This past weekend Stony Brook swept their weekend series against the University of Delaware Blue Hens. The Seawolves are now 9-0-1 and ranked #10 in the country. Defenseman, Parker Bishop started the scoring off for the Seawolves by skating the puck end to end and beating the Delaware goalie top shelf. Bishop would go on to get the star of the game for Stony Brook for his offensive touch and defensive play on Saturday night. Forwards Ori Benyamini and Brad Riccardi tacked on a couple of insurance goals in the second period and Freshman Charles Peck put one right under the bar to seal the win 4-0. Payne Yoder registered his second shutout of the year stopping all twenty three shots he faced. On Sunday afternoon the Blue Hens jumped out to an early lead scoring on an odd man rush just two minutes into the game. However Stony Brook would battle back as Forward, Devon Palmieri ripped a shot right over the Delaware goalie’s shoulder on the power play in the second period. Seawolves, Mike Kowicki and Jack Nevicosi scored back to back goals within a minute of one another early in the third period putting Stony Brook up 3-1. Stony Brook would go on to win the game 4-1 with an empty net goal coming from forward Brad Riccardi towards the end of regulation. The Seawolves travel south this upcoming weekend to take on #13 ranked Liberty University. Stony Brook’s next home games will be Saturday November 11th at 8:30pm and Sunday November 12th at 3:30pm against Syracuse University at the Rinx in Hauppauge, 660 Terry Road. Come down and cheer on your Seawolves!
