Seawolves finish regular season on a high note, 26-2-2.

Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as the University of Central Oklahoma Bronchos defeated your Seawolves in a shootout 3-2.Stony Brook’s penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on six Broncho power plays. However, the Seawolves were kept off the score sheet on all of their power play opportunities. Senior forward Tyler Underhill and Junior Captain, JT Hall notched a goal apiece for the Seawolves. Derek Willms was exceptional in net for Stony Brook rejecting 31 shots on goal.
After the devastating loss on Saturday night, the Seawolves fought through another tight game against the Bronchos on Sunday. This time Stony Brook proved to be too much for Central Oklahoma and won the game 5-3. The score remained tight through most of the game with neither team leading by more than two goals throughout, however Joe Bochichio’s goal in the third period proved to be the difference maker. JT Hall had two goals to lead the Seawolves to victory. Hall found the back of the net at 17:19 into the second period to make the score 3-3 and again at the 19:35 mark into the third to make the score 5-3 Stony Brook. Additional points came from Tyler Underhill, with one goal and one assist as well as Bochichio and Andrew Cetola with one goal and one assist as well. Seawolves goaltender, Derek Willms stopped 51 shots out of the 54 that he faced.
This past weekend was the last games for the Seawolves in regular season. They finished the season with a 26-2-2 record and currently are ranked #1 in the country. Stony Brook will travel to Hershey, PA this weekend for the ESCHL Playoffs, hosted by the Lebanon Valley Flying Dutchmen. Go Seawolves!!!
