Seawolves split at home moves them to 4th in the country

This past weekend your 3rd ranked Seawolves played host to 6th ranked Adrian College Bulldogs. Saturday night’s game Adrian put Stony Brook on their heels early, scoring three unanswered goals in the first period. However the Seawolves would battle back as they cut the deficit to a two goal game after, Captain JT Hall scored on the power play. Just when it seemed like Stony Brook had some fight left in them the Bulldogs scored with less than a minute left in the second period, giving them a 4-1 lead going in to the third. Yet the Seawolves never gave up as they climbed to within one of Adrian. JT Hall tallied his second of the game and Tyler Underhill his first. Stony Brook pulled their goalie with just under a minute to go but fell short losing 4-3. Coach Garofalo’s comments after the game “we’re disappointed about the loss we got out to a slow start and were caught behind the eight ball all night. I’m extremely proud of how we handled the adversity though. We never quit and we battled till the last shift. Tomorrow will be a different game for us.”
After a short rest for both teams the Seawolves came out and picked up right where they left off the night before. Stony Brook defenseman, Frank Sherding ripped a shot from the point beating the Adrian goaltender on the power play. However, the Seawolves would find themselves behind the eight ball again on Sunday as Adrian scored two goals late in the second period. With Adrian up by one in the third period rookie defenseman, Frank Coscia’s took a shot from the point which found the back of the net to tie the game at two apiece with less than five minutes to go. The game headed into overtime and within the first twenty seconds Seawolf defenseman Frank Coscia put a shot on net and Captain JT Hall was there to put in the rebound. After the game coach Garofalo had this to say. “Even though we lost last night we learned from our mistakes and we learned what needed to be done in order to beat this team. I’m extremely proud of the boys and once again they never gave up and showed great resilience. Now it’s time to get ready for West Chester.”
