Barbera has four goals one assist, leads Stony Brook University to 5-2 win over University of Arizona
Nick Barbera netted a hat trick to lead the M1 Stony Brook University Seawolves over the M1 Arizona / University of Wildcats, 5-2.
Barbera’s first goal came 32 seconds into the second period. He then added goals at 14:02 into the third and at 18:58 into the third.
Stony Brook University stifled Arizona’s power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. With 27 shots on target during the contest, the Seawolves exceeded the 4.1 shots they average per game this year.
Stony Brook University additionally got points from Vincent Lopes, who also registered one goal and four assists to lead the team in points. In addition, Stony Brook University received assists from Dalton Gilbert, who had one and JT Hall, who had three.
The Wildcats put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Stony Brook University to score on any of its three power plays. Arizona’s offense was clicking better than usual and put 33 shots on goal during the game, better than the 2.0 shots per game it averages.

Brendan Jones recorded 31 saves for the Seawolves. Stony Brook University incurred 30 minutes in penalty time with five minors. For the Seawolves, Chris Joseph was ejected from the game. Arizona’s Garrett Patrick stopped 22 shots out of the 27 that he faced. The Wildcats incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors. Arizona ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Alex Nespor was ejected from the game.

Behind a great game by Nick Barbera, who had two goals and one assist, the Stony Brook University Seawolves defeated the Arizona Wildcats, 6-3.
Barbera found the back of the net 12:38 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Stony Brook University and again while 14:49 into the second to make the score 5-1 Stony Brook University.
With 28 shots on target during the contest, M1 Stony Brook University exceeded the 3.7 shots it averages per game this year. The Seawolves could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 22 minutes in penalties during the game.

Derek Willms made 35 saves for Stony Brook University on 38 shots. The Seawolves registered one goal on five power play opportunities. Garrett Patrick recorded 22 saves for Arizona . The Wildcats incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
