Seawolves rookie Defenseman Frank Coscia named to the 2016 American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) Men’s Division I all-rookie team, as selected by the Head Coaches of ACHA Men’s Division I.
Frank hails from Staten Island, NY and was one of the many catalyst defensemen for the Seawolves this year. Coscia helped lead Stony Brook to a 30-3-2 record, an Eastern States Collegiate Hockey League (ESCHL) championship and a final four appearance in the National Tournament.
Seawolves Head Coach and General Manager Chris Garofalo found it all a fitting end to a fantastic freshman season for Frank. “I wasn’t too sure what to expect from Frank when he came to training camp. I had seen him a year or two before but he had taken a year off of competitive hockey and that really made me a little skeptical of him competing at a high level. However once he showed up to camp and I saw him compete against my guys I knew he was going to be a special player for us.”
Frank finished the season with 17 goals and 13 assists for the Seawolves. He was a key player for the Seawolves power play and their offensive productivity. Coscia looks to build off his rookie season and help the Seawolves compete for a national championship next year.
