Head Coach & General Manager

Currently in his 27th year as General Manager and 14th year as Head Coach, Chris has been a large reason why the team has become one of the most dominant non-varsity college hockey programs in the country. Chris, also known as the “nuts and bolts” of the team, does all of the recruiting, scheduling, and organizing that the team requires during the season in addition to coaching. After taking over the Head Coaching position in 2010, Chris led the team to 4 consecutive ESCHL Championships in 2013, 2014, 2015, and 2016, as well as a fifth championship in 2022, and championship game appearances in 2017, 2019, and 2020. Chris has led the team to the ACHA National Tournament in 12 of the last 13 years. The team was Runner Up in 2015, Semifinalists in 2014 and 2016, and Quarterfinalists in 2017 & 2022 at the National Tournament. Before becoming General Manager and Coach, he played for the team from 1992 to 1996. He ended his Stony Brook career with over 100 points and was selected to the Metropolitan Collegiate Hockey Conference all-star team in his senior year. Chris was born in Portland, Maine where he lived for one year before his family moved to Long Island where he played hockey at Farmingdale High School and for the Junior Islanders. Chris received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from Stony Brook University in May 1996. Upon graduation, Chris took a job with Computer Associates, where he worked until 2003. He is currently a National Account District Sales Manager for Automatic Data Processing (ADP) and lives in Lake Grove, NY with his wife and two daughters.

Colin Brumsted

Associate Head Coach

Colin will be going into his 14th year as an Assistant Coach for the Seawolves and 7th as an Associate Head Coach. In Colin’s time coaching he has achieved a great deal of success. Colin has helped lead the team to 4 consecutive ESCHL Championships, 3 Runner-Up ESCHL Awards, Runner Up at the ACHA DI National Tournament in 2015, Semifinals appearances in 2014 & 2106 and a Quarterfinals appearance in 2017. Colin played all 4 years of his college hockey career at Stony Brook, serving as captain for his last two seasons.  During his playing career at Stony Brook, he was known as a very tough stay-at-home defenseman who would always put the team first. Colin is originally from Columbia, Maryland where he played for the Junior Nationals of the AJHL and for the Little Capitals of the MJHL.  Today Colin resides in Coram, NY with his wife and two daughters and is a sales representative for Medline Industries.

Chris Testa

Goaltending Coach

Chris Testa is in his 9th year as Stony Brook’s goaltending coach. In 2015-16, Chris brought the program a wealth of knowledge and experience at the goaltending position having played four years of NCAA hockey at UMass-Boston and three years semi-professionally (FHL and SPHL). Upon completing his playing career, Chris began working with various youth hockey organizations and has continued to do so since 2013. Chris has spent time scouting for USA Hockey on a national level as well as providing goaltending instruction for the USA Hockey paralympic sled hockey team from 2013-16. Chris currently resides in Bayville with his wife Marisa and their two children Carson & Camryn. Chris works as a Sales Executive at ADP and is the owner of Netminders Elite Goaltending.
