Before Thanksgiving break the Seawolves finished their four game season series against the West Chester University Rams. Earlier this semester Stony Brook took both games at home against the Rams. This past Saturday the Seawolves got out to a slow start but were able to bounce back as they cruised to a 7-1 win over the Rams. Sunday night’s game seemed it would have the same outcome as Stony Brook scored three unanswered goals on the first three shifts of the game. The Seawolves thought it would be another win like the night before but the Rams battled back to make it a 5-4 Stony Brook lead going into the third period. Less than a minute into the third the Seawolves went up 6-4 while on the power play but the Rams tallied another goal late making it 6-5. The Rams pulled their goalie with just under a minute to play but Stony Brook put the season series to bed with an empty net goal and winning the game by a 7-5 victory.
The Seawolves will have Thanksgiving weekend off. Their next home games will be Saturday, December 1st at 8:30pm and Sunday December 2nd at 3:30pm against the University of Delaware. With the holiday season right around the corner the Seawolves will also be collecting toys for the Stony Brook Children’s Hospital at the games. Come down to cheer on the Seawolves but more importantly support a great cause for the children’s hospital!
Happy Thanksgiving!!
