After a long off season the 2nd ranked Seawolves travel north to take on the 20th ranked, Syracuse Orangemen. Last year’s Matchup’s between these two teams saw Stony Brook sweep the Orangemen in the weekend series. After speaking to Head Coach, Chris Garofalo about this weekend’s upcoming games compared to last years he stated “We had a lot of seniors graduate this past year, which were a big part of our success. However, since training camp we have had a lot of our returners step up and fill some of those roles and we had a large recruiting class that are going to be a good fit to what we are trying to accomplish. This year’s team is the hardest working team I have ever had and this weekend’s games I look forward to seeing how we compete against a competitive Syracuse team.”
For Stony Brook’s home opener they will host a division rival the University of Rhode Island Rams. Next Friday, October 2nd at 9:00pm and Saturday October 3rd at 8:30pm, Friday night is alumni night and Saturday night is hockey fights cancer. Come down to cheer on your Seawolves, their alumni and support a good cause in hockey fights cancer! All home games are played at the Rinx in Hauppauge, NY 660 Terry Rd.
