Seawolves sweep weekend series vs. Rutgers to make it 5 in a row!!!

This past weekend the Seawolves traveled to New Jersey to play Rutgers University for the first divisional meeting between the two teams. The first game on Friday night Rutgers struck first in the first period, which seemed to have woken the Seawolves up as they went on to a 13-1 thumping over Rutgers. The star of the game, which is voted on by the team after every win went to forward Nick Coppola with his first hat-trick of the year. Saturday’s game started much like Friday’s game left off. Stony Brook went up 2-0 going into the second period and seemed to have a good handle on the game. However, even though the Seawolves controlled the majority of the second period Rutgers scored twice with two odd man rushes and the game was tied heading into the third period. The Seawolves came out flying in the third and scored three goals in less than a minute and a half to start the period. Stony Brook went on to win 5-3, improving their record to 7-1, and ranked 4th in the country. The star of the game went to sophomore forward, Brian Boser. Next up for the Seawolves will be another conference game against Westchester University at home. The games will be this Saturday night at 8:30 pm and Sunday afternoon at 3:30 pm. All home games are played at the Rinx in Hauppauge, 660 Terry Rd. Go Seawolves!!
