This past weekend the Seawolves traveled across the river and won the first two games of a four game season series against divisional opponent, Rutgers University. Stony Brook got out to a slow start Friday night, but found their groove and went in to the second period, up 4-0. From there the Seawolves never looked back and won the game 8-0. Friday night’s players of the game included Senior goaltender Todd Scarola posting his first shutout of the year, Sophomore forward Brendan Calello with two goals and an assist, and Senior forward Andrew Cetola with a goal and two assists.
Saturday’s game Stony Brook got off to a good start, but couldn’t find the back of the net until late into the first period and rolled to a 4-1 win. Sophomore forward Brendan Calello posted another two goals and defenseman Dalton Gilbert tallied two assists for the night.
The Seawolves will play another divisional opponent, West Chester University this Saturday night at 8:30pm and Sunday at 3:30pm at the Rinx in Hauppauge. Saturday night will be costume night to celebrate Halloween and Sunday, Stony Brook will be raising money for the North Shore Animal League.
