Stony Brook got out to another slow start in the conference championship game on Sunday night against the University of Delaware, where they found themselves in a 2-0 hole going into the second period. Once again the Seawolves got their legs underneath them in the second period, with a goal from forward Joe Bochichio on the power play and an absolute snipe from forward Tyler Underhill. The beginning of the third period Stony Brook had all of the momentum going up 4-2 with goals from Captain Sam Brewster on the power play and Tyler Underhill with his second goal of the game. However, Delaware would battle back to tie the game with a minute left, forcing overtime. In OT the Seawolves had multiple scoring chances early and finally found the back of the net with the game winner coming from assistant captain JT Hall.
Stony Brook will travel to Cleveland, OH in two weeks where they will play the University of Rhode Island Rams in the second round of the ACHA National Tournament. The game will be Saturday March 7th at 7:00pm. You can watch all of the games on Fasthockey.com. Go Seawolves!
