Stony Brook University boosted by Willms’ play in net, beats Lebanon Valley College 4-1 to capture fourth straight ESCHL championship!

A stellar performance between the pipes by Derek Willms helped the Seawolves defeat the Lebanon Valley College Flying Dutchmen, 4-1 this past Sunday in the ESCHL conference championship. This marks the fourth straight time Stony Brook has captured the conference title. Stony Brook started the game off strong scoring three goals, ten minutes into the first period. Contributing to the first period scoring for the Seawolves were defenseman Joe Heffernan, forwards Matt Crockett and Joe Bochichio. Captain, JT Hall finished the scoring with an empty net goal making the final score 4-1 Seawolves. Stony Brook stifled Lebanon Valley’s power play, not allowing a single goal on three Dutchmen power plays. The ESCHL’s tournament MVP went to Seawolves goalie, Derek Willms stopping 44 shots out of the 45 he faced.
