On Saturday night Stony Brook University got the win thanks to a great game by Frank Coscia, who had two goals and two assists. Coscia’s next tally made the score 7-1 Seawolves in the third period. Additional points came from Osowsk, and Cetola with a goal and an assist a piece. Others who scored for Stony Brook University included JT Hall, Brian Boser, and Chris Stemke, who scored one goal each. Stony Brook went one for two on the power play and were a perfect three for three on the penalty kill. Derek Willms recorded 32 saves on 34 shots for Stony Brook. Stony Brook’s Hard Hat went to assistant captain Defenseman Dalton Gilbert for his stellar defensive work on the penalty kill and five on five play.
Sunday afternoon’s game Stony Brook picked up right where they left off from the night before. The Seawolves tallied four goals in the first period, five goals in the second and one goal in the third, finishing the season sweep against the Flames with a 10-3 victory. Eleven of the Seawolves notched a point throughout the game, leading the way was forward assistant captain Andrew Cetola with one goal and four assists. Stony Brook did not give up a goal while on the penalty kill but capitalized on three of five power play opportunities. Derek Willms recorded 37 saves for the Seawolves. The Seawolves hard hat for the game went to senior forward Matt Gervasi for his excellent overall play and scoring his first goal of the season. Stony Brook travels to play divisional opponent the University of Delaware this weekend. The Seawolves next home game will be Saturday January 23rd at 8:30pm and Sunday the 24th at 3:30pm against Rutgers University. All home games are played at the Rinx in Hauppauge. Go Seawolves!!!!!!!
