On Saturday night, the Flames got their crowd into the game early as they made the most of two Stony Brook penalties and went into the second period on top, 2-1. In between the first and second period, assistant coach, Colin Brumsted provided additional insight on the game so far as well as their future plans for the remainder of the game. “The team and the coaching staff had a discussion and we came to the same conclusion, we beat ourselves that period. We have to stay out of the box and the boys knew we had to get back to our game plan, the plan that has made us successful. It wasn’t our best twenty minutes, but we’re ready to go for the next forty.” The Seawolves came back to score three unanswered goals in the second period and overcame the Flames late comeback with an 8-5 win. This marks the first time in team history Stony Brook has swept Liberty.
