In a few short weeks the crisp fall air will descend upon Long Island, but the Stony Brook Seawolves are already preparing for their upcoming season. Training camp is already in the books and the team just finished their first week of practice this past Thursday night. Head Coach Chris Garofalo told us after Thursday night’s practice “I’m excited for another year. We look to pick up where we left off and get back to our winning tradition. We had another off season with a lot of turnover up front on offense and goal tending due to graduating seniors. However quite a few veterans did the right things during the off season and our new recruits look like they will fill the big shoes of the players we lost.”
The Seawolves will open the season at home against divisional opponent University of Rhode Island (URI) on Friday, September 30th at 9:00pm at The Rinx in Hauppauge and Saturday night at 5:00 pm. Friday night is Stony Brook student night and Saturday night the Seawolves will be raising money for the fight against Leukemia. Come down and support your Seawolves as they kick off the 2016-17 season and the fight against Leukemia!
All home games are played at The Rinx in Hauppauge, 660 Terry Road.
