14th ranked Seawolves split weekend series with 6th ranked Colorado

This past weekend your 14th ranked Stony Brook Seawolves took on the 6th ranked University of Colorado Buffalos. Friday night was both Alumni Night and the first of two games for the Seawolves. In the first game Stony Brook blanked the University of Colorado with a score of 3-0. The Seawolves net minder, Richard Shipman saved everything that came his way for his second shutout of the year and the team in front of him played a complete game and perhaps one of their best this year. The second game of the weekend did not go as well for Stony Brook as they fell 7-3 to Colorado. Although the score was 2-1 going into the second period, a flurry of second period chances were too much for Stony Brook to come back from. Colorado took advantage of special teams and berried two power play goals and one shorthanded goal that proved to be too much for the Seawolves. The Seawolves will look to get back on track against New York State rival Syracuse University this weekend on the road.
