Seawolves are BUDDIES with The League of Yes!

This past Saturday the Seawolves hockey team and Stony Brook Ice Girls participated in The League of Yes, Long Island’s baseball game at Bald Hill Park in Farmingville, NY. The League of Yes Long Island, was created in 2010 by Executive Director and Founder, Kristine Fitzpatrick. This foundation is dedicated to providing children with special needs the opportunity to play baseball. The backbone of this program is the BUDDY system; which stands for, Because Unbelievable Dedication Deserves YOU! The Buddies help the players hit the ball and navigate around the bases. While in the outfield, they play and socialize with the players and keep them safe from baseballs. The Stony Brook Seawolves hockey team had a phenomenal time participating as BUDDIES for the day, we would like to thank The League of Yes Long Island for allowing us to be a part of this special day. The Seawolves look forward to next year’s big game with their friends at The League of Yes Long Island!

Don’t forget, Stony Brook’s home opener for the 2016-2017 season will be Friday night September 30th at 9:00pm and Saturday night at 5:00pm against the University of Rhode Island Rams. Friday night is also Stony Brook student night. All Stony Brook students who present their Stony Brook ID will get in the game for free and the first thirty Stony Brook students will receive a free rally towel. Saturday nights game the Seawolves will be raising money for the Leukemia Fundraiser.Come down and cheer on your Seawolves as they start their road towards a national championship and to support the Leukemia Fundraiser!
