#11 Seawolves upset #1 Adrian College Saturday night but falter Sunday

Your 11th ranked Stony Brook Seawolves took on the #1 ranked Adrian Bulldogs this past Saturday and Sunday for their most competitive weekend yet. The Seawolves came to play Saturday night, with an impressive 3-2 win against the previously undefeated Bulldogs. Junior defensemen Mike Kowicki led off the scoring for the Seawolves with an assist from Joey Slevin, followed by a second goal from forward Chris Molnar. Putting the Seawolves up 2-0 after the first period. Adrian challenged Stony Brook’s lead with two quick goals in the third period to tie the game at two apiece. However, Devon Palmeri answered their goals with one of his own to win it for the Seawolves with only 4 minutes left in regulation.

On Sunday afternoon the Seawolves squared off against Adrian once more to try and sweep the weekend series. Adrian came out more determined than ever to defend their national ranking. Stony Brook played perhaps their worse game of the season as they were defeated 7-0.

After taking the split this weekend, Stony Brook heads into Thanksgiving break, returning for their next home game on Saturday December 9th at 8:30pm. Come out and support your Stony Brook Seawolves at the Rinx, 660 Terry Road in Hauppauge, as they return to take on NYU!
