The Stony Brook Hockey team is proud to announce its schedule for the 2021 season!
The Seawolves, who finished last season ranked No. 7 in the nation, are excited to get back on the ice after their 2019-20 campaign came to an early end with the cancelation of the American Collegiate Hockey Association National Tournament this March.
While a typical season would begin in early October, Covid-19 restrictions have caused many teams nationwide to postpone puck drop until January 2021. The Seawolves intend to play a competitive 22-game schedule against opponents from the Eastern States Collegiate Hockey League as well as a weekend series against the No. 4 Ohio Bobcats. Stony Brook will play each of its ESCHL opponents, including new addition Drexel, at least twice this season.
The team will open its season with a two-game series against the Delaware Blue Hens at The Rinx. The delayed start to the 2021 season will result in one of the most compact schedules in Stony Brook Hockey history, with each game carrying more weight throughout a sprint to the finish. After wrapping up the regular season with a home-and-home against NYU, Stony Brook will head to West Chester, PA for the ESCHL Playoffs. The Seawolves will look to finish their season in Marlborough, MA at the ACHA National Tournament.
The Seawolves have been carefully monitoring all health and safety guidelines since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic and will continue to do so.
